Chase Breaks Ground on New HQ, Plans Warehouse Expansion

December 2006 – CLARKSTON, MI – Due to consistently strong growth, Chase Plastics, the largest specialty engineering plastics distributor in the USA, today announced it has outgrown its current facilities and is building a new, larger world headquarters building, expanding its material distribution facility and hiring additional sales staff.

The Company, founded as a regional distributor by Kevin and Carole Chase in 1992, distributes specialty engineering thermoplastics to plastics processors in a variety of industries and currently has sales and warehousing facilities throughout North America, including Canada and Costa Rica.

Chase Plastics broke ground on a new 42,000 square-foot building on Thursday, November 16, 2006. The building will be located at 6467 Waldon Center Drive, in Clarkston, Mich. Chase administrative operations and management employees will move into the new building when it is complete. An August, 2007 move in date is expected.

“We’ve experienced phenomenal, double-digit growth each year since we started our business, requiring us to build a larger headquarters facility and expand our distribution and sales force,” says Kevin Chase, president, Chase Plastics. “These actions will provide the infrastructure and the tools we need to continue this growth rate, and to better support our customers through enhanced sales and distribution efforts.”

In South Bend, Ind., the Company recently increased its main distribution center from 60,000 sq.-ft. to 95,000 sq.-ft. The expansion provides additional loading docks to move product to customers more efficiently and support Chase’s growing fleet of twelve company-owned trucks. It also provides additional floor space to support increased inventory and value added services, such as blending and repacking, and the expansion of administrative facilities to even further broaden the Company’s capabilities.

In addition to facility growth, Chase recently added two new sales positions to better serve the eastern and western United States. Eric Walters was promoted to Chase’s Los Angeles territory and Adam Paulson was promoted to East Coast Senior Account Manager to round out the company’s national growth initiative. Ron Gartner was hired in Wisconsin to replace Mr. Walters and Mike Nielsen was hired in Western Michigan to replace Adam Paulson.

“We outlined a national distribution growth strategy in 2003 and our sales additions on the west coast and an additional seller on the east coast completes this initiative. Chase Plastic Services is now the newest national distributor in the USA recognized by our customer and suppliers,” states Kevin Chase.

“We attribute our growth to our commitment to ‘Outrageous Customer Service’,” says Carole Chase, vice president, Chase Plastics. “Our ability to offer a wide variety of value added products and solutions, based on our customers’ terms, is a level of service customers have come to expect from Chase Plastics.”.

Chase’s “Outrageous Customer Service” philosophy puts the Chase customer first. Among other things, the goal is for every call to be handled in person, messages to be returned and quotes to be supplied within two hours, and for each customer order to receive equal treatment.

“We’ve gone from a one company start-up to a consolidated group of company’s with more than $95 million dollars in combined sales in 15 short years, and we attribute that to our commitment to make it easy for customers to do business with us,” continues Carole Chase. “We value our customers and suppliers who’ve partnered with us and we will continue to work hard to maintain and grow these relationships through our service, our people and our variety of product solutions.”

About Chase Plastics
