CLARKSTON, Mich., Dec. 15, 2008 – Chase Plastics, a distributor of specialty and engineering thermoplastics, today took a bold step toward a new level of “totally outrageous” customer service by combining its customer service and purchasing functions and setting aggressive new goals for on-time delivery and order accuracy. To lead the effort, the company announced the appointment of Laura Goik to the new position of customer service manager.
“We are focused on setting new industry standards for on-time, next-day delivery and 100-percent accurate order fulfillment,” said Kevin Chase, president of Chase Plastics. “Laura Goik will spearhead a new level of leadership and employee empowerment so that each member of the Chase team understands the customer experience from every angle.”
Goik is responsible for overseeing cross-training efforts in customer service and purchasing so Chase employees can step in anywhere, anytime they’re needed. Plus, she is ramping up technical training for the newly combined departments in the performance and application of Chase Plastics products. The goal is flexible and nimble company performance achieved through continuous improvement and complete product and process knowledge.

Goik joined Chase in 1996 as a receptionist, earning positions of increasing responsibility in purchasing, materials management and customer service over the past 12 years.
