Your Nominations Helped Us Make a Meaningful Impact
A Gift of Gratitude
At Chase Plastics, we’re proud to stand alongside our customers and suppliers in recognizing and supporting those who’ve served our country. Through our “Honoring Our Heroes” campaign, we invited you to nominate veteran-focused charities that are making a real difference in the lives of our nation’s heroes.
Your passion and participation inspired us so much—we simply couldn’t choose just one winner. In fact, we couldn’t choose just two…so we’re excited to announce the 3 recipients of our $2,500 donation:
Winning Charity:
Disabled American Veterans
Disabled American Veterans (DAV) – A non-profit organization that empowers veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity by providing free assistance with benefit claims, transportation to medical appointments, and employment resources.
Why our customers nominated them:
- They help many local veterans who have been injured during service serving our great country.
- Disabled American Veterans helps vets (including me) navigate the process to file for disability compensation from the VA.
- Last year, the organization provided more than 163,000 rides to veterans attending medical appointments and assisted in filing over 151,000 claims for benefits. In 2021, DAV-represented veterans received more than $25 billion in earned benefits. DAV’s services are offered at no cost to all generations of veterans, their families and survivors.
- This non-profit has been helping to provide free services to American veterans and their families for over 100 years.
- D.A.V. does amazing work, giving rides and ensuring vets get to their appointments. They also help them navigate the headaches of the VA.
Winning Charity:
Gary Sinise Foundation
Gary Sinise Foundation – Founded by actor and humanitarian Gary Sinise, the foundation honors defenders, veterans, first responders, and their families through programs that build specially adapted smart homes, support mental wellness, and provide relief and resources for wounded heroes.
Why our customer nominated them:
- They help the families of our nation’s fallen military heroes thru varied, life-changing programs. For example, there's an event offering a reprieve, an opportunity for surviving spouses and family members to step away from the weight of life for an unforgettable experience. This is while surrounded by a others who understand their journey. The event, City Adventures, fosters connection, joy, and healing, while honoring the memory of their loved ones.
Winning Charity:
Hero Pups
Hero Pups – A nonprofit dedicated to pairing specially trained service dogs with veterans and first responders dealing with service-related challenges, including PTSD and anxiety.
Why our customer nominated them:
- Hero Pups was created to bring awareness to PTSD and in memory of Christopher Allen Journeau, who six months after returning from serving in Iraq took his own life. The purpose of this foundation is to make companion animals more accessible to veterans, because we at Hero Pups know firsthand the impact that animals can have on veterans and their families. Eligible recipients (‘Heroes’) include veterans and first responders.

Other Nominated Charities
While these organizations were not selected as the final recipient of our recent charity spotlight or donation, each one was nominated for a reason. Many provide vital services to veterans and their families, ranging from healthcare support to housing, job training, mental health services, and more.
