Chase Plastics is excited to announce two changes to its technical service and application development support team on the East Coast – enhancing its ability to provide customers with an outrageous level of customer service.
The changes include the addition of David Hoover, technical service and application development engineer, to the team. With more than 22 years of experience in plastic product design, engineering, processing and validation, Dave is an invaluable resource as Chase Plastics continues to develop innovative ways to serve its customers.
“In addition to providing ongoing technical and application support to existing programs, Technical Service Engineer/Application Development Engineers (TSE/ADEs) also work alongside our technical sellers and customers to source the right product for their application early in the process, slashing time and cost out of the production cycle while minimizing failures,” said Doug Wright, regional sales manager. “Dave has a proven track record in providing solutions throughout the value chain and brings a wealth of knowledge to processors on the East Coast. We’re confident his abilities and customer-focused approach will guide processors to improved manufacturing productivity and further elevate the level of ‘outrageous service’ were known for.”
Dave is a central Pennsylvania native and has a bachelor of science degree in plastics and polymer engineering technology from the Pennsylvania College of Technology. He will be based out of Williamsport, PA.
“I’m looking forward to meeting our customers, learning about their business challenges and bringing valuable solutions to address their material and processing needs,” said David. “Through the dedicated team assigned to them at Chase Plastics, we will work diligently to ensure that they stay ahead of the competition.”
Chase Plastics also recently located technical service and application development engineer Jason Merkle to improve its reach, flexibility and responsiveness to our customers across the Southeast. Jason will be based in Charlotte, NC, and has a wide range of field expertise and knowledge in all aspects of material selection and plastic molding. He holds an associates and bachelor of science degree in plastics engineering technology from Ferris State University and a master’s degree in plastics engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
“Jason has been with Chase Plastics for more than four years and continues to demonstrate his technical expertise by consistently providing successful material solutions to customers from the more than 6,400 varieties of specialty, engineering and commodity thermoplastics we have to offer,” said Wright. “He has an innate ability to work hand-in-hand with both our technical sellers and customers to evaluate materials and/or issues and resolve them effectively, either by tweaking the process or recommending an alternative material that eliminates failures while improving their bottom line.”
Jason is a Michigan native but coincidentally was born in Charlotte and spent the first six years of his life there. While his previous territory was the East Coast, he also served customers in the South and Southeast. This move will allow him to be more centrally located, available and focused on those customers.
“I am thrilled to move to the Southeast, and excited to step up to the plate on the challenges and opportunities that our dedicated customers face in the region,” said Jason.” I look forward to growing our high level of technical support and partnering with customers to find customized solutions for every application.”
